I love this cookbook in both hardcopy and kindle forms.... HOWEVER the kindle version is NOT the most recent edition, it is from 2015 not 2016. You can see the difference in the covers and some recipes are different. I own both, just purchased both this week, and honestly I like that they have slightly different recipes. In the month of January alone there are a number of different salads. It seems like they swapped out some of the recipes. I wish they would have given me the most recent edition in kindle but the flip side is that i have some additional recipes that are not in my hard copy and I love them...like the Jan 28 recipe... I will attach photos to show some differences in recipes. As you can see the January 10 and jan 28 recipe is different, if you look at the table of contents i posted from hardcopy and kindle, you can see all the differences in that month. I like the Jan 10 recipe better in the hardcopy version and in the kindle I prefer the jan28th recipe over the hardcopy. Inattached bkth side bt aide so you can see for your self. Despite this small issue this is one of my favorite cookbooks and I'm glad I have both versions. I love the recipes.
Love this book! It's very helpful for beginner salad maker like me. I make at least 3 recipe from this book every week, and they taste great! The only thing I didn't notice at the beginning was the serving size for each was different. I thought it was set up for 2 people, but turns out most are for 4-6. I have never make salad at home before, and these are the salads I made by following the instructions on the book.
My husband and I are salad fanatics. That said, this is THE best salad cookbook I have ever seen or used, and I must own over 25. In fact this is so superior to every other salad cookbook I've used that I have given away all the others. For those of you following a low carb diet, it is easy to adapt the recipes. Thank you, Georgeanne, for a splendid cookbook.
It seems like most of the salad books I've seen are just basically ice burg lettuce with different dressings and/or veggies/fruits thrown on top, what I really appreciate about this one is all the salads really are different from one another. There are recipes using whole grains (I've made two of the wheat berry salads, great for bringing for lunch as they just get better after sitting in the fridge), fruits/veggies (made a wonderful spinach/strawberry salad w/ poppy seed dressing and toasted nuts), a variety of strictly fruit salads, and your picnic/potluck items like potato salad, pasta salads and egg salad. It also uses a variety of greens and here's where the index comes in handy, I was at WF the other week and they had dandelion greens, I've never had them but picked some up, looked in the index, and there was a recipe! Having this book has made me feel more adventurous while I'm at the grocery store in what items I'm going to buy, knowing that I'll be able to find a tasty and healthy way to prepare them.
At first I was a little upset that it didn't seem to have recipes I would like, but the Moore I read the more recipes I found. I've tried quite a few already and they are amazing! There's a pesto chicken pasta salad that is so good I have to make 2! One as a decoy for my husband, the second to actually bring with me to the party!
I have been looking for a book with salad recipes in bookstores and libraries. Each one had more recipes that I wouldn't use than I would. I checked the reviews for this book and it holds up to the reviews. My husband is a diabetic and many of the salad ideas are healthy and filling. Some of the recipes have the protein source along with the vegetable and grain. So many good recipes. While the few that I have tried so far have introduced me to new products the products were not hard to find or expensive. The wide variety will please everyone.
I enjoy salads. This collection provides a nice variety from the usual green salad. Great for potlucks. Only wish my family liked salads as much as I do.
many of these recipes cant be considered salads or require difficult to source produce but its still nice to have around
