Cowboys Chronicels delivers on its promise. It has every single Cowboy game ever played (except preseason) and has a short writeup on the game. There is also a season summary of every season and tons of bios and stories of famous Cowboy players and owners. Each season comes with a picture for that particular season. So now instead of having to look up the info on the web or figure out when exactly was that long touchdown run by Dorsett against the Patriots you can look it up. This is simply a must have for any Cowboy fan who loves to study Cowboy history and is tired of other books glossing over Cowboy history. I do have some negatives to mention. The pictures are not color and the stats are very sparse. No boxscores or team leaders or anything. This is truly a chronicle not a stats book. The win-loss record could have been put in the season summary but those are just nitpicks. Also the game chronicles stick to the facts so no description of any pre or post game events like TO dancing on the Star in '00. It sticks strictly to game facts. The book probably would have been more expensive if it did include my suggestions. The Danny White forward I could have done without though. I think his, "I've only played for Landry for 13 years so I never saw him smile" quote was originally said by Walt Garrison. And I could be wrong but I think he got his situation with the "No Danny No" '83 game a bit off. That play did not result in the Redskins scoring but it did change the momentum of the game.
It is exactly what it says it is: it gives a synopsis of every Dallas Cowboys game ever played up to the time when it was published. And it has anecdotal histories of pivotal figures included.
I love the Cowboys, you probably won't read this thing cover to cover, but it's a must have for any fan I think.
This is a MUST HAVE BOOK for every Dallas Cowboys fan!
Good condition
This is a complete history of every game the Cowboys have played from there first game as an expansion team in 1960. Right up to their playoff loss to the Brett Favre Vikings after the 2009 season. There are a few paragraphs for each game. Then a couple of pages for their Super bowls and some individual players. There is an introduction by Danny White who despite playing in the game gets quite a few facts wrong as he tries to cover his tracks in the No Danny No game against the Redskins in 1983. He says the Cowboys were leading by four points with a minute to go when they lined up on fourth down to try to draw the Redskins offsides and win the game. And if they didn't jump to just le the clock run and punt. He called an audible that was stopped for a loss and the Redskins went on to win the game. The Cowboys were behind by four points 14-10 and there was plenty of time left. The play changed momentum and the Redskins went on to win 31-10. And to me it seemed that for the rest of the Tom Landry era the Cowboys wee never the same. This is a book that any Cowboys fan would want to have.
