I have been waiting for a bible journal like this for years. I love that you can pick a book of the NT and study it individually. The paper quality is perfect, the font is just the right size. I will be buying these for years to come! I'm having my church looking into buying these in bulk to give to members for home group studies. My children are picking a book in the NT that we will study as a family. These are perfect for a "Synthetic Bible Study".
This review is about the ESV New Testiment Scripture Journel Set (Standard/ Not Illuminated Edition):I absolutely love these. ESV is my favorite translation of the Bible, as it is an essentially literal translation, which makes it great for reading through and also in depth studying. These scripture journels are currently my favorite way of reading the Bible right now. The bigger font and thicker paper makes it really enjoyable to read. There is something really cool about picking up one of these scripture journels and holding just one book of the Bible. It reminds me that the Bible is actually sixty-six separate books that make up the entirety of God’s word. The smaller size of each book also makes me want to read a whole book at once instead of just a few chapters, so I find myself reading more at once. All in all I love these and don’t have anything negative to say about them. Anything that makes reading the Bible more exciting and enjoyable to you is well worth the money. I’m really happy I purchased these as a set and will definitely be getting the Old Testiment set once I finish these.
Quality paper. Does not bleed when using Pigma Micron 005 colored and black pens. I am using a Travelers Cover with the NT and Moleskin lined notebook. A great combination. Plenty of space for notes. I bought this product for my husband who loves to journal and typically will in a separate journal. He loves it! He loves how you can journal right there in the book! He also loves the way they look! Very nice look and good size! Can't wait for the Old Testament to come out! Love this!
Kudos to Crossway for making this - an excellent set and well designed. I have always wanted to have each book like this, and in a way that allows for more space to journal or comment or decorate. Looking forward to the release of the OT set soon.
The look of this Bible is amazing. I looks so sleek and sharp, so much that it makes you want to touch it and examine it closer with your eyes and hands, as well as read it. It also feels great in your hands. The cover and pages have a great matte feel. If you properly break in the books then it will lay flat or close to it. The pages are have a great thickness to them and have a great feel as well. Ball point pens and regular highlighters don't bleed that much, if any, and I'm sure higher-end pens and highlighters wouldn't bleed through at all. I do wish the covers were a little thicker so that they're more durable but that's about it. I'm inductively going through the Bible so the spacing in the text gives me lots of room to mark up the text and the ruled pages are great for additional notes, observations, and thoughts.
Great quality and the lines are just visible yet just faint enough to not cause strain or get in the way of notes. I highly recommend this product.
Love the format and font size. Great for taking in depth notes during sermons or bible study.
