Some interesting ideas! This book is timeless - written several years ago but everything continues to be relevant - namely the techniques.. You can make the birdhouses and feeders exactly as shown or modify them to suit your personal tastes. Easy to see why it has the rating that it does.

Great book, easy to follow instructions to build Bird houses.

The bird houses are pretty basic designs. I was hoping for some designs a bit more advanced.Good for beginers - not so good for advanced woodworkers

Good source. Heavy on birdhouses, lite on bird feeders. Still, many good ideas and designs. Not much competetion, from other sources that I have found.

I purchased this wonderful book, "Build Your Own Birdhouses" by John Perkins, as a Hardcover option and used. It came from the collection of books of the Fargo Public Library, Children's Dept. Main Library, based on the stamped information on the first page inside the book. I acquired it as I have many woodworking and Plans books for my build it yourself workshop library. I usually get them in almost perfect condition and in this case great condition, hardbound and protected like a library book is, with a Clear sleeve over the Book Cover and secured like it would be lent out to children of rough enough stock to warrant this protection. This is my all around favorite Bird House Building Book. Mr. Perkins has compiled with plans, writing and fantastic pictures of birds, houses and feeders, the most wonderful of these types of books. And please, if you have seen and read this book and know of a better, please comment on this review with this information and I will also acquire this book myself. The birdhouses here are reasonably easy to build, and there are more helpful design ideas one can use, other than by using woodworking skills to build them. Clay Pots, Natural log houses and other ideas are shown in how to plans and layouts for the builds. This is a wonderful book and I love it, especially at a cost of only . . . $2.19 + postage. 5 stars!
