Susan Goldman Rubin is the author of more than fifty-five books for children. I love the Jewish people they have had a hard time in life and still they struggle to live with all people against them. Irena Sendler understood the Jewish people and was a wonderful Polish Lady they put her self in harms way to help the Jewish people she had true love and compassion because of her love for the Lord Jesus Christ and wanted to help as many Jewish Children as she could and alot of Jewish Mother's that trusted her. Wonderful book of Love.
This was a gift for an older child (11) -- I hesitated over the picture book format and was even more concerned when the book arrived as it was larger than I expected. I think the recipient was ok with it, but could tell she thought it was too young for her. I think the book would maintain its artistic value if published in a smaller version. I would probably not purchase another one in this size for a pre-teen child, which is a shame as the story itself is a wonderful story of heroism.
Very good book for children and adults to learn about an important woman, and movement in history.
Great true story.
Even young readers need to know that there are heros in a world of evil and tragedy. Such heros bring hope in atime of despair. Beautifully illustrated and written in a manner not to bring fear to children.
This is a beautifully written and beautifully illustsrated story of a not so well known hero. Although it is a children's book (older children) I still found it very well written and something our children should be aware of.
Got this for the school library and the students like it very much
